Book Synopsis: Our simple "eye yoga" exercises are especially appealing to baby-turning-elder-boomers who want to maintain and improve their eyesight as part of an alternative health routine that fits easily into a busy schedule. What distinguishes this from other vision improvement books is the link we make between the eyes and our brain, our thought processing and our personality, using an array of fields, particularly neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Since NLP is combined with the vision improvement, the exercises soon lead the reader into a deeper contemplation of the eye-brain connections - personality traits, insights, metaphors, big-picture values, envisioning, creativity and problem-solving. With many practical tidbits and food for thought, the material has been honed and polished in a succession of popular Eye Yoga Workshops we have offered over the past four years along the West Coast and in such diverse places as Lake Havasu, NV, England and Findhorn, Scotland.
About the Authors: Both my sister and I have spent many years applying the material presented in our book improving the eyesight of clients as well as our own. The method works. I hold a doctorate in clinical hypnotherapy and am a Master Trainer of NLP. Martha has been a Vision Therapist in an optometric office and has worked with private clients and presented workshops for natural vision improvement on the East Coast.
Eye Yoga Workshop: This 3 1/2 hour workshop is entertaining, interactive and very educational. Approximately 90-95% of the participants report some improvement in their eyesight at the end of the evening. They love the insights into their personality and how they think as related to how they see.
